HDR photography

If you shoot a picture of dark objects in bright sunlight, something is gonna get black or white. There is no way you can get a nice picture.

HDR stands for High Dynamic Range. The idea is to take several photos with different exposure settings, and then stack them all together to get the lighting right.

Here is a link to MAKE with some nice tutorials.

Google Analytics changes

If you have Google Analytics, you have about one year to change your code:

From:
<script src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" type="text/javascript"> </script> <script type="text/javascript"> _uacct = "UA-YOURNUMBER-1"; urchinTracker(); </script>

To:
<script type="text/javascript"> var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? "https://ssl." : "http://www."); document.write("<script src='" + gaJsHost + "google-analytics.com/ga.js' type='text/javascript'></script>" ); </script> <script type="text/javascript"> var pageTracker = _gat._getTracker("UA-YOURNUMBER-1"); pageTracker._initData(); pageTracker._trackPageview(); </script>

iPod CPR

Is you iPod dead?
All you see is this:
Fear no more, there is a simple cure for this sad face: whack it.
Show your hardware who is the boss! Hammer it! Well, don't use a hammer, a simple bang is enough.

Thanks Bruno for the tip!

Me wants internet!!!

Can some generous soul send me a copy of winmerge? It looks like i'm
in a very restricted access policy, so i cannot access anything...
but I need winmerge! I work with it...
Guess i'll have to bring my 3G access to work...

Just to say i'm still alive

New job, new responsibilities, new email, new machine to install, a
LOT of restrictions...
I'll have to start blogging by email, because almost every site is
blocked. At least I still have gmail, slashdot and wikipedia. And
google reader! So, if you have a blog with a feed, you still exist
